Commowealth Games Sports Day

On Tuesday 17th June the school are holding a Commonwealth Games themed sports day. It will start at 1.00pm and will be held in and around the football pitch.

Your child has already been placed in a Commonwealth country, which becomes their sports day team.

We’re asking that your children tries to wear colours of the Commonwealth on sports day. Their countries and colours are below. It doesn't need to be all the colours, just some to brighten up our Commonwealth Games Sports Day.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday at our Commonwealth Games

Laura and Dylan had a very exciting day today.  They were at a recording studio in Glasgow recording voice overs for an animated film with Tam Baillie who is Scotland’s Commissioner for Children and Young People. The school took part in a survey which asked children aged 3-11 across all of Scotland what they thought was good about sport in Scotland and what could be done to improve it. They were very impressed with the feedback from our school and asked us to provide the children’s voices for a short animated film which tells us the results of the survey. Laura and Dylan impressed everyone with their professionalism and the job was completed in no time at all. It will premiere at an assembly in the school, if not in June, then at the start of the new session.

Well done to Laura and Dylan and thanks to all who gave their feedback so well!

Our aim was to run the distance between the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games venues. We began at 9.15 am with P1a at the Athletes Village and each class had took a turn of carrying the baton. P7 finished at the Glasgow Hockey Centre at  2.50pm. Each child ran at least 1km and we raised £253 for Sport Relief.
